Jamie Billington

Jamie Billington

For his undergraduate degree, Jamie studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge. Although he had planned on becoming a geologist, he ended up being drawn into Systems Biology. This discipline equipped him with some of the computational skills that underpin Synthetic Biology and modern bioscience. His Masters research project was focused on the development of new genetic toggle switches in bacteria.

Jamie began his PhD in the Rosser Lab in October 2016. He is currently working with synthetic transcription factors to try and manipulate natural processes that occur in mammalian cells.
