Caroline Wardrope

Background and research

Caroline currently works as part of the UK centre for Mammalian Synthetic Biology. Her background is in molecular and chemical biology specialising in protein/enzyme characterisation and cell biology.  Previous work has involved studies of diverse proteins both in-vivo and in-vitro. Her current projects are focused on development of tools for mammalian genome engineering.  This includes: strategies to improve production of biologics in CHO cells (the predominant host used by industry for this purpose), and stable incorporation of genetic circuits into mammalian genomes.
